Progress on equine photographers podcast by Peter DeMott

Positive feedback from comments and facebook

Yesterday I asked if people would be interested in a podcast consisting of interviews with equine photographers. It would be a podcast about the photographer, not about photography. I would be interested in feedback on who you might like to hear interviews with. Rather than post those here as comments, if you have a couple of ideas, send them to me through my contact page or my email at peter@photosbypdemott.com

Putting together the methods and programs to make a podcast

This evening I purchased the program that I need to record the podcasts. There are a couple more things that I will need to work out and understand before I do some test runs. I need to learn to run Skype with the recording program, then I have to figure out how to edit and perhaps remove long pauses or goofs.

I have to come up with thought provoking questions that can help lead the conversation and keep things moving along.

The chicken or the egg? …oh, I mean … which came first the horse or the camera?

Most of the interviews might start with a question about which came first the chicken or the egg….oh, I mean….. which came first the horse or the camera? There will be questions about their focus in equine photography. Is it around a specific discipline or specific breed? We will talk some about their equipment and favorite lenses, but that it not going to be the main thing. The big thing is what makes them tick as a photographer and what is unique about what they do as an equine photographer. Because I have an interest in advertising and marketing and promotion of businesses, I will likely ask what they find most effective  for them and how things have changed over the last several years for their businesses.
